IMA MRTVIH I POVRIJEĐENIH: Razoran zemljotres pogodio istok Turske (FOTO, VIDEO)

Najmanje četiri osobe su poginule u snažnom zemljotresu jačine 6,9 stepeni koji je danas pogodio istok Turske, a osjetio se i u susjednim zemljama.

Turski ministar unutrašnjih poslova Sulejman Sojlu rekao je da su dvije osobe poginule u istočnoj provinciji Elazig i još dvije u susjednoj provinciji Malatja, prenio je Rojters.

Epicentar zemljotresa koji je izazvao i materijalnu štetu zabilježen je na dubini od 10 kilometara u provinciji Elazig, oko 550 kilometara istočno od Ankare, saopćio je Euro-mediteranski seizmološki centar (EMSC). 

Rojters navodi da je zemljotres pogodio zabačenu i relativno rijetko naseljenu oblast, tako da će turskim vlastima biti potrebno nešto više vremena da procijene tačnu štetu koju je načinio.

Državni mediji u susjednoj Siriji i Iranu su izvijestili da se zemljotres mogao osjetiti i u tim zemljama. 

Lokalni mediji u Libanu navode da se zemljotres osjetio u Bejrutu i Tripoliju.

Rojters podsjeća da su Tursku u prošlosti pogađali snažni zemljotresi.

Više od 17.000 ljudi poginulo je kada je u avgustu 1999. godine zemljotres jačine 7,6 stepeni pogodio zapadni grad Izmit, oko 90 kilometara jugoistočno od Istanbula.
